The Keppvim Brush handle is made out of 100% biodegradable bamboo which naturally provides a non-slip surface. Keppvim brush features an ergonomic grip and it’s sleek and timeless design makes it the perfect must-have accessory in every bathroom.
Did you know that bamboo is not a tree but the fastest growing plant on earth? It is naturally antibacterial which means that there is no need to use fertilizers or pesticides during its cultivation.
Our bamboo is naturally grown to the desired height and is harvested in mainland in China. The processing, production and packaging are all done by hand. The bamboo gets cut into strips, steamed and stripped of the tough outer layer. It dries in the sun and then gets cut into workable pieces. The outside of the material gets stripped again, and the sides are hand-crafted to form the optimal shape. Holes are drilled into the head, the entire brush is sanded and our logo is laser burned into the handle. It is treated with natural wax and the bristles are inserted. After packaging your Bamboo Brush is ready for shipping.
The ergonomic, shaped handle fits the hand perfectly thereby allowing for great handling of the brush
So Nylon Bristles in an Eco Brush, right…??
Yes, and there’s is a reason behind it. Our product is design to create near to zero waste but our customers are partly vegans. to go 100% zero waste on bristle we would hate to use pig’s hair from the tail. All our products therefore use Nylon 6 which degrades faster than lower grades of nylon. The bristles are provide options for Soft and Medium. Nylon 6 is a material ideally suited for dentistry but also degrades over time and can be processed through regular waste channels. Importantly, there is no other plant-based material that would allow to use your brush for the recommended three months.
Disposal of the Toothbrush
The different parts of the toothbrush can be disassembled for proper disposal. The bristles are not biodegradable but could be recyclable in your city. The issue with recycling bristles is that they are very small and lightweight: curbside recycling will not work. You may be able to work out a solution by contacting your local recycling facility. But otherwise, the bristles will have to be landfilled. Using pliers, it is easy to remove the bristles from the head. Doing so will also remove a small metal staple that is used to clamp the bristles to the handle. The handle can be reused or disposed of in a commercial composting bin.
What about the packaging?
our packaging is made of recyclable paper. The Outer box of 4 pack and outer box of 1 pack as well as paper sleeves are biodegradable.
